Mission/Guiding Principles

As a Marin nonprofit agency serving the needs of the residents of Novato, our mission is to support low-income individuals and families, helping them overcome their immediate crises and move toward long-term self-sufficiency.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Mutual Respect
We provide a center of hope and dignity, by treating all who participate in our organization with respect and compassion.

• Responsibility
We serve as a catalyst for change, by teaching tools to help people maximize self-sufficiency through their own initiatives.

• Equality
We recognize the inherent worth and rights of each individual, and support the aspirations of the disenfranchised.

• Diversity
• We value the strength that comes from diversity, and consciously strive to understand and respect our differences, as well as find common ground.

• Connection
We promote connection among neighbors, and know that our success comes through collaboration with community partners, volunteers, donors, and excellent staff team, and our constituents.

• Potential
We believe that with a small amount of assistance, people can achieve great things.

  • “It wouldn’t be Christmas without new toys for the kids. Thank you all for continuing your Holiday Share again this year!”
