The agency’s volunteer program promotes quality involvement of volunteers in the delivery of agency services to clients based on compassion, vision, and integrity. Volunteers play a vital role in the success of our programs and services and:

• Provide direct assistance to our neighbor in need
• Allow the agency to expand its resources and fulfill its mission successfully
• Provide an essential perspective to program planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Are strong representatives of the agency throughout the community
• Offer inspiration, support, and invigoration of the agency’s mission and services

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Food Pantry Coordinate food storage and maintain food pantry supplies from Marin Food Bank deliveries – Tuesdays 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

USDA Food Program Assist with receiving, stocking, and distributing food, including some home deliveries on the 4th Wednesday and Thursday of the month.

Employment Services Serve as an employment counselor assisting clients with employment development, job searching, follow-up, and support.

Clerical Support Provide office assistance, data entry, phone & staff support.

Receptionist Greet visitors, answer telephones, and light clerical duties.

Van Drivers Help drive our van for seniors and disabled persons.

Community Outreach Liaison Help us broaden our base of support in the community by working with us to reach out to friends and contacts in the community who might be interested in learning more about us. This position is ideal for someone who is active and well-connected in the community, but perhaps has limited time to volunteer.

Special Events Enjoy a variety of opportunities to share our mission with the community and raise funds. Possibilities include the 4th of July parade, the Human Race, the Marin Hunger Walk, and more!

Building Maintenance Assist with repair and maintenance at the Center & Thrift Shop.

Fundraising Work with Development staff on gathering necessary resources for NHNC programs and services.

Program Assistance Work with our program staff to assist with various services to clients.
